Everyone knows that cannabis has been legal since 1 April 2024. At present it is up to the licensed premises whether they permit or prohibit consumption on their premises. <br> As the VDH we would welcome a ban at a venue, but we cannot regulate it. <br> However, this is somewhat different from alcohol or smoking. Passive inhalation alone can be enough for it to be detected in you, which in turn could be a disadvantage especially for drivers. <br> Since we cannot forbid it to the venues, we still want to give you a way to respond. If you have a match at a venue where consumption is permitted (you would have to ask beforehand, or you may already know), you have the option of not playing the match at that venue. <br> In that case the match must be moved to a neutral venue via the sports officer, stating the reason. Either there is an alternative, or we are happy to remind you of our office, where matches can also be played. <br> <br> If this causes problems anywhere, please contact the relevant sports officer. <br> <br> We stress again: this is not about dictating anything to the venues (at most of them it is forbidden anyway), but in this context it is about protecting all players from passive inhalation.
